The Gransfors Bruk Splitting Maul is part of a line of Gransfors splitting axes that feature broader, heavier heads than the rest of their line, designed specifically for splitting wood. It's a perfect choice if you're looking to split wood around the house or at the cottage.

The Gransfors Splitting Maul has cheeks that are concave, so that once you start splitting, the axe forces the wood part as you drive the axe head down.

Also called a hammer-poll axe, the Maul has a 5 1/2 pound head and a 2 1/2" face that features a sledge end on the back (poll) so you can use it for pounding on a splitting wedge or other implements.
