Gränsfors Bruk Splitting Hatchet

The Gransfors Bruk Splitting Hatchet is ideal for one-handed splitting and chopping of wood, and small enough to pack in with you wherever you go.

With a 2 pound head and 19" handle, the Splitting Hatchet is the same size as the Gransfors Small Forest Axe, but the head weight and geometry provides a different function. The Gransfors Splitting Hatchet's blade starts off concave and fairly thin, allowing easy penetration into the wood, where upon the thickening axe head exerts greater splitting pressure.

The splitting hatchet has a 2 lb head, 2.5" face & 19" textured hickory handle, and is ideal for splitting kindling & smaller stove wood. It is designed for one-handed use.

Note: This axe’s poll is not hardened for use as a sledge.
