Gränsfors Bruk Large Splitting Axe

The Gransfors Bruk Large Splitting Axe is in the line of Gransfors Splitting Axes designed specifically for splitting wood. The head on this axe is heavier and wedgier than classic axes, and features concave cheeks so that once the axe enters a piece of wood, the head forces the wood apart as the axe is driven down.

Gransfors Splitting Axes, like all Gransfors Axes, are hand-forged in Sweden by one of a small number of expert smiths. The name of the smith is proudly displayed on every Gransfors axe they make.

The Gransfors Large Splitting Axe features a 3 1/2 lb head and a 3" face. The poll is not designed for use with a wedge, so if you're looking for a large splitting axe designed for pounding on a wedge, consider the Gransfors Bruk Splitting Maul.

The Large Splitting Axes comes with two handle options, a 27" curved handle or a 31" straight handle. Both axe handles come with a steel collar at the top to prevent over striking.
