The Camp Carver has it’s genesis in larger North American rigger’s axes, Northern European bearded axes, and modified bushcraft hatchets, and was designed to be multi-use bushcraft/camping axe. Featuring a swept toe, flat-grind, large bit length, bearded blade, and a radius under the hammer poll (for the web of the user’s hand), the Camp carver was made for general camp chores, as well as for choking up, shaving wood, and for detailed work. The poll is hardened and can be used like a hammer, and helps with balance of the head and provides leverage when choking up.
An excellent camp axe, the Camp Carver has a 90 degree spine for scraping tinder and for using a ferro-rod to start fires in a pinch, or just for fun.
The updated 22" handle, like the 16" has a generous palm swell for added sense of security, and a large hatchet eye to give strength/durability, and to offer a comfortable grip when choking up, but also provides a means of using the axe one, or two handed, and offers increased leverage.
The Camp Carver axe is a great axe for carvers, bushcrafters, green-woodworkers, trappers, hunters, backpackers, day-hikers, off-road bikers, campers, paddlers, tradesmen, ranchers, homesteaders, hobbyists and collectors.
