Wool hats are great - they wick moisture, keep you warm even when wet, and don't really absorb odours or foster bacteria growth, but in blustery or windy conditions, the wind can penetrate through, leaving ears feeling cold without the use of a secondary hood. Ivanhoe of Sweden's Stormy Hat addresses this issue - by including an internal windproof synthetic liner to block the wind. The Ivanhoe Stormy Hat is knitted with a 100% wool outer layer, a 100% Tencel (lycocel) inner layer over the ears, with a nylon lining between the two layers - protecting the wearer's ears and head in even the nastiest of conditions.
