The Hudson's Bay Tobacco Tin traces its roots back to the time of the voyageur and courier-de-bois. Based off of a museum piece, this style of tobacco tin would have been readily available at trading posts operated by the Hudsons Bay and Northwest Companies. Traditionally used to store tobacco for a pipe and/or a flint and steel kit, this multi-use tin can be incorporated into your gear kit in not only for it's historical purposes, but also for storing fire and repair kits, tinder, batteries, etc..The 6 power magnifying lens can be used (with some practice and strong sun) to light your pipe, twig stove or a camp fire, and can help when reading fine print on maps.
