About Sportes Inc

Sportes Inc makes innovative tools for outdoor living.

An industrial design studio with a love of the great Canadian outdoors and industrial design, Sportes Inc brings new and creative Canadian made products for life outdoors from their headquarters in Montreal, Quebec.

Says founder, Cedric Sportes "I have always been fascinated by our ancestor’s concepts and tools that revolutionized societies, particularly those from First Nations cultures, and specifically innovations that accentuated human dexterity in its quest for food and building.

The creation of our first product in 2003, the MITI-001, illustrates my passion for such ancient inventions and how I believe these tools can still find a purpose today. The MITI-001 revisits the traditional concept of the “Swedish Log”. Several tools from our ancestors have transformed civilizations and have through time been perceived as old-fashioned or outdated, but still, have survived the escalation of consumer goods and technological advancements.

Today these tools aren’t used merely out of nostalgia, or because of their socio-cultural value and references, but mainly because of their unequaled performance. Off the grid or Bushcrafting trends tend to feed an increasing demand for robust, effective, and simply built products. Being able to repair, maintain or modify tools seems to have become unavoidable among outdoor enthusiasts".
