Silky (Outdoor Axes, Knives and Saws)
Founded in Kishi Japan, in 1919, Silky saws use traditionally Japanese saw toothing design for cutting on the pull stroke.About Silky
Silky saws began as “Tamakitsune” in Kishi, Japan in 1919, and today are manufactured in Ono, Japan. In 1970, Silky embraced new automatic saw setting technology, which led to the development of the many Silky saws in production today. Silky uses a unique alloy steel that is engineered and produced exclusively for Silky Saws that provides a harder, longer lasting edge, exceptional tensile strength, and provides an ideal combination of hardness and flexibility.
Silky employs impulse hardening to harden the saw blade teeth , whilst leaving the rest of the blade unchanged - which therefore retains its normal flexibility. Chrome plating of the blade ensures it is rust and corrosion resistant. All Silky saws use traditional Japanese saw toothing design for cutting on the pull stroke.
