John Pickett Council started Council Tool in North Carolina, USA in 1886. A farmer, woodsman and a harvester of turpentine, he began making tools when he saw a need for quality tools for his community that were presently unavailable.
His legacy continues as the 4th and 5th generations of the Council family still manufacture quality hand tools 100% made in the USA. Council Tool uses only American steel, American hickory handles, and American made accessories made from material and supplies that are domestically produced.
With the majority stockholders helping to run the day to day operations alongside second and third generation Carolina craftsmen on the plant floor, you can be rest assured that the company helps maintain John Pickett’s commitment to building honest, quality tools made with care.
